MYSA to participate in football for development campaign in Czech Republic

Football for development is an annual youth football forum that uniquely utilizes sports as a platform for reaching young people towards making a better future.

The one month football campaign is taking place in several regions of the Czech Republic during events such as football tournaments, music festivals and leadership workshops for youth.The campaign consist not only football tournaments but also exhibitions, performances, screening documentaries and debates.

MYSA is sending a delegation of seven people which includes; six young volunteers 2 boys and 4 girls and one leader who is a senior staff in charge of Youth exchange programme, Francis Mutuku.

The forum is organized by INEX- Association of Volunteer Activities which is a non-governmental organization working in the field of international volunteering and global education since 1991 and funded by Czech Development cooperation and private footballers.

The forum gathers together institutions working with young people outside the framework of formal education system, young people aged between 19-30 years, organizations joint at the platform of Czech Forum for Development cooperation as well as role models and stars in the field of football and culture.

The aims of the exchange programme are;

  • To promote the value of partnership and dialogue between the global South and North
  • To raise awareness about global issues
  • To promote the importance of international cooperation (Sharing good practice)
  • To inspire and activate young people

The group will arrive back on the 19th of July.
