“One of the greatest opportunities that I’ve received through MYSA was a 13-month North-South exchange programme to Norway... The exchange was a life changing experience.” I have been a volunteer and loyal member of MYSA since 1993, first as a footballer, and later as an actor and group leader in the Arts and Cultural Project Haba Na Haba, which I have been involved with since its inception. I later became an artist with ‘Merkestainane’ – a music band for people with disabilities, and today I am also a project officer in the Media Arts and Culture Department of MYSA. One of the greatest opportunities that I’ve received through MYSA was a 13-month North-South exchange programme to Norway, with support from Norwegian organisation Fredskopset. There, we learnt to improve our music skills and collaboration, we strengthened our leadership skills, and we had the opportunity of a lifetime to see the culture of Norway. I learned a great number of things on the exchange; one of them being personal representation. The exchange was a life changing experience. |
