“Joining MYSA changed my life... I developed confidence, ambition and a sense of self-worth. I have learnt new skills and won scholarships to pay my school fees”

When I was young, my parents faced many difficulties with poverty and bringing up six children. We rarely had enough food to feed the whole family. Joining MYSA changed my life. I was 13 years old when I joined. It gave me the chance to play football regularly and I soon saw the value of other activities – MYSA educates people about how to avoid diseases like HIV; it increases self-esteem and encourages people to conserve the environment. I developed confidence, ambition and a sense of self-worth. I have learnt new skills and won scholarships to pay my school fees – without this I would probably already have left school. Today I enjoy school and have started to dream about my future. I thank MYSA because without it, I know I would not be learning today. I encourage my fellow boys and girls to work hard and to join MYSA, if they can.
