At MYSA we believe that sport can bring communities together, and be a powerful way to teach young people skills and instil values, while also being a vehicle for teaching social messages. More than anything, sport is a powerful motivator, that inspires and incentives those who take part.

Giving youth a sporting chance

what_we_do_smThe MYSA motto is ‘giving youth a sporting change on and off the field’. Our love of football has helped us to finish our education, cleanup the areas where we live, taught us how to protect ourselves from sexually transmitted diseases, given us the opportunity to perform on stage, and to support people in the community less fortunate than ourselves.

All MYSA activities are linked by a system of points. You get points for playing in matches, taking part in clean-ups, attending an HIV/AIDs awareness sessions and volunteering as a referee or a coach for other teams. The points go towards your team’s ranking in the league.

You can also earn leadership points for taking part in an activity. These points are part of our leadership awards scheme, which gives education scholarships to our most active and enthusiastic members.
