This Festival following from last year’s inaugural event ‚Football Festival of Peace‘ aims to build upon the success of last years‘ event in bringing together Football industry participants and Not
for Profit football organizations, to showcase how football can be used in a positive way to engage with, inspire and encourage young boys and girls in their local communities. The central idea of the festival is to promote participation, unity, inclusion and gender equality within the broader framework of friendship and to coincide with the start of this
year’s FIFA World Cup which is a global event watched by millions of children and will be featuring five African teams and creating great interest and excitement amongst a feverishly passionate football continent.

The festival intends to provide a platform to show how football can deliver team play across the communities promoting unity, respect and understanding among young peoplewith different backgrounds. 128 young players of U10 and U14 age groups equally split by gender will participate together with 32 coaches and supported by a number of organisers
predominantly from Mathare Youth Sports Association “MYSA”. As the second event of it’s kind in Nairobi we aim to build on the success of last year’s event and in partnership with our main sponsor believe this day will be a not to forget event for many of these young boys and girls predominantly from the slums of Nairobi who will get to play football, have fun, make new friends and meet some of their footballing heroes who started their own playing careers in the same place.
